The LEADER -Region Central Carinthia with 33 municipalities and 97,072 inhabitants is located in the middle of Carinthia. It covers approx. 2,102.603 km², from the Saualpe over the Gurktal Alps to the Nockberg mountains and includes the district of St. Veit/Glan with the district capital, municipalities in the district of Feldkirchen and the district capital and four municipalities in the political district of rural Klagenfurt: Magdalensberg, Maria Saal, Moosburg and Grafenstein. The LAG Central Carinthia is run as a limited liability company (Ltd.). The sole shareholder of RM Regional Management Central Carinthia Ltd. is the association "Regionalentwicklung kärnten:mitte“, which is divided into the four regional associations “Norische Region”, “Kärntner Holzstrasse – Region Nockberge”, “Hemmaland” and “Glantal”. The members of the Ltd. are the 33 member-municipalities.
