Founded in 1968, Josef Thurner Holz GmbH, with more than 30 employees, has developed into a leading company in the local timber industry. Today Matthäus Thurner, supported by his sisters Magdalena and Anna, manages the company distinguished with the national coat of arms in the 2nd generation. From the very beginning, they have counted on suppliers from Austria, Germany and Switzerland, as well as customers in Italy and in many regions of Europe and overseas. The company has the highest expertise as the largest Austrian stone pine trader in the international timber trade and in timber brokerage. 1,000 to 1,500 m³ of sawn stone pine timber in all common dimensions are waiting in the well-stocked warehouse for customer inquiries from the European furniture and timber construction industry. Also available are raw materials for fences and carports, processed products such as Glulam, DUO or CLT for timber construction or small-format laminated beams made from Siberian larch.

Gailtal valley pioneering spirit: Renewable energies have a long history in Kötschach-Mauthen. In as early as 1886 Anton Klauss built the first hydroelectric power plant in Kötschach. At that time it was the fifth plant in the former Austro-Hungarian Monarchy. Hiper Cast GmbH is a best practice example of a successful relocation from southern Europe. The company can refer to 30 years of experience in the extrusion and processing of plastics, which have led to this innovative production system in the field of cast PP extrusion. The company demonstrates its expertise in the following products: sterilisable, tear-resistant, extremely elastic and puncture-resistant films for bags with controlled openings, sterilisable peelable films for sealing with unlacquered or lacquered Tyvek® with adjustable peel strength, films for liquid packaging with high gloss, transparency and elasticity, but also films for thermoforming packaging from 50 μm to 150 μm with high thermo-deformability and transparency. The pasteurisable and sterilisable products for dry foods are developed on the fastest and most modern packaging lines. The production facility with clean room characteristics covers 12,000 square meters, of which 8,000 square meters are used for production alone.
