The LEADER region Central Carinthia with 33 municipalities and 97,072 inhabitants is located right in the middle of Carinthia. It covers approx. 2,102.603 km² from the Saualpe over the Gurktal Alps to the Nockberg mountains and includes the district of St. Veit/Glan with the district capital, municipalities in the district of Feldkirchen and the district capital and four municipalities in the political district of rural Klagenfurt (i.e. Klagenfurt Land): Magdalensberg, Maria Saal, Moosburg and Grafenstein. The LAG Central Carinthia is run as a limited liability company (Ltd.). The sole shareholder of RM Regional Management Central Carinthia Ltd. is the association "Regionalentwicklung" (i.e. regional development) Central Carinthia, which is divided into the four regional associations “Noric Region”, “Carinthian Holzstrasse – Region Nockberg Mountains”, “Hemmaland” and “Glan Valley”. The members of the Ltd. are the 33 member-municipalities.
